Private tutor creating unique research-based lessons, to meet your child's literacy needs!

Teachers can be most effective in helping students to become better readers, writers, and thinkers when they weave integrated reading and writing activities into their literacy instruction.  (Tierney and Shannahan 1991)

  It's Fall!

This is a great time to think about what learning supports your child may need this school year!  District and school leaders are confronting high-stakes decisions as they plan how they will address learning losses that occurred during the pandemic.

Research states that tutoring in small groups or 1:1, is considered the single most powerful strategy for responding to learning loss (Education Week, S. Sawchuck, 8.19.20)...."In such small groups, teachers can better customize teaching to the specific content gaps a student has missed or the prerequisite skills they need to practice.  It's also easier for a student to develop a relationship with a tutor they see at dedicated hours, several times a week."

I am offering literacy lessons in my home or yours, and I am also available to teach in small Learning Pods.  Contact me to schedule a time that works for you!

Health Precautions

As the 2022-23 school year continues, the challenges presented by Covid-19, specifically the Delta Variants and now, RSV and the Flu remain. Please note that all CDC Guidelines will be upheld and adhered to, at each and every tutoring session.

Our combined health and well-being is of the utmost importance for successful learning to take place.
